It's laughable but very sad how the infamous 5 use the Constitutionn as a ploy to achieve their social agenda. Be it integration, immigration, worker's rights, health benefits, or church-state issues, the right wing (most notably the infamous 5) are driven by one thing...maintaining a class system in this country. I think impeachment proceedings against Thomas and Scalia would be in order to restore balance to the court. But then Thomas may claim it was due to racial bias.

On a serious note, MLK looked forward to a day when people would no longer be judged by the color of their skin. Shouldn't we try to find better ways of improving education for everyone than simply classifying or trading students based on the color of their skin? And at this point, isn't diversity more than just a black/white issue...what about Asians, Hispanics...why not religious diversity. Should we ask a school to include Jews, Moslems, Hindus in addition to Christians....there is more to this issue than just rhetoric...

You're right, Democrats should win elections, but here's a clue for Republicans, stop cheating and fixing them. Have an honest political debate, not character assassination.
This country is sinking. We're going to get our assess handed to us by China, India, Japan and Europe, and guess who you can thank? Bush and Cheney.
We're not sinking...Europe is hurting with zero population growth, disenfranchised immigrants and tough EU regulations. Japan's economy has been stagnant for years. India is growing, but still relatively poor, but luckily an ally. China, also growing, has its own economic troubles, a weaker military and too many restrictions on individual freedom...not too mention quality control issues with its exports.
The fact that some of these countries are growing stronger has a lot to do with their own internal capabilities and policies, and little to do with whoever occupies the White House. I'm not quite sure how everyone is going to rip us a new one according to your post, but the sky isn't falling. Our decline has been predicted for decades and hasn't happened yet.
Don't go off kicking puppies or anything...life is good. And hey, the stronger China gets, the easier it might be to find good lo mein in this country.

Do you really think the 5-4 majority currently on the Supreme Court votes on the basis of constitutionality of the law or on fulfilling the agenda of the extreme right wing in this country? Look at the totality of their voting record. On virtually every issue Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, and Alito vote pro-business, pro-religion, anti-minority issues, anti-environment and usually against the interests of the average citizen. It's only Kennedy who has a soft spot for certain environmental issues. Your statement suggesting that the President in power has the right to shape the nature of the Supreme Court is technically correct. However, considering the pathetic record and egregious disregard for the law of the Bush-Cheney regime (the term administration should only apply to democracies) your comment is very troublesome. Also troublesome is your statement "life is good." It's very insensitive. Tell that to the parent who lost a child, a double amputee, or the 50 year old reservist with a growing family who is serving in Iraq defending our freedom.
"Life is good..." being insensitive. Give me a freakin' break. Yes, I do have the utmost sympathy for any parent who has lost a child or anyone suffering from a tragic illness. However, compared with the great majority of the people in the world (sub Saharan Africa, parts of Asia, Latin America) where poverty, AIDS, and illiteracy are debilitating problems and people live in mud huts with little food, life in the United States is fantastic and I'll defend that statement whether there's a Republican or Democrat in the White House. Let go of the anger...embrace the opportunities of America...and hope that someone you like better gets elected.
This country survived a Civil War, the Depression, Vietnam, Watergate, the Carter malaise...it will survive and prosper even with Bush/Cheney. Perspective, people, perspective.

I would just say this: this country is on the verge of the shitter because of Bush/Cheney. Will we survive it? Sure, but much the same way a battered spouse recovers after she shoots her husband. The sooner Bush/Cheney are gone, the quicker we will recover as a nation.
