Hillary Clinton cannot win the Presidency. She and her husband have set up a recipe for destruction, and they will bring down the Democratic Party with them. While I would love to see a woman President some day, it is not going to be Hillary. It could've been, but it's not. Here's why:

First of all, people hate her. Republicans and the right wing hate Hillary. Many of the Christian fanatics on the right have been disenfranchised (kind of like the Black vote for the Democrats) and disillusioned by the Bush administration; they know they've been used. Now, they're backing Huckabee, who's got a snowball's chance in hell, and many are less than enthusiastic. There's a good chance many of them will sit out in 2008, but not if Hillary is running. Nothing would excite the right wing more than a chance to vote against Hillary.

Secondly, the Clintons are using the African American community as pawns. They know they need to cater to the Black vote to have a shot to win in states like South Carolina. However, the way they are treating Obama will sour many in the Black community, who may sit out come November.

Finally, the use of Bill Clinton in the campaign is a strategy that will backfire. It shows that she can't run on her own merits. She needs his help. She knows she can't compete with Obama in South Carolina so she sends Bill there to be all cutesy. This message of "two for the price of one" or "we get Bill back in the White House" may work with the base (of which I am not), but it will not play well with the Independents or the moderate Republicans in November.

If Obama does eek out the nomination, it will not be won without blood. Bill and Hillary will not let him take it easily, and he will be severely weakened going into the general election. Though, he still has a chance to win. Hillary does not.
