Those of on the left side of the political spectrum got a twofer the other day. On the heels of the John Ensign committed adultery story , we got the Mark Sanford committed adultery story. By the way, for the zealot, right-wing nazi Christians keeping score, adultery is a sin according to the Bible. It is actually a violation of the Ten Commandments: number 7 to be exact (6 if your Catholic or Lutheran). G-d does not take these things lightly. But I digress...
These two incidents got me thinking, why do politicians cheat? Because they (think they) can. Some get away with it for years without ever getting caught while others get busted and busted hard. It's not just Republicans. It's just the Republicans that are hypocrites about it. You've got Ensign and Sanford, John Edwards, Larry Craig (ass plunger), David Vitter and the granddaddy of them all, Bill Clinton. They all got caught.
You've got others, such as Jesse Helms who liked to take it in the rear and be smacked around by big beefy, muscular men often in threesome fashion. While this was common knowledge, he was able to be discrete about it and never got caught. Just kidding. This is baseless.
Think about for all the politicians that have been outed as adulterers or (closet homosexuals-all Republicans I might add), how many have gotten and are still getting away with it. The real scary thing is, if they can cheat on their spouses, in what ways are they cheating their constituents and the American people?
